May Island

This is my favorite Japanese/Chinese restaurant yet in Virginia. If you are thinking this is one of those expensive, not-tasty-enough and overly priced Japanese restaurants, YOU ARE WRONG! This cute little restaurant is really well priced and they have amazing food! From kid's Bento boxes to Udon, this is where your heart is going to connect to!

Location: Alexandria, Virginia
Rating: *****
Cuisine: Japanese/Chinese
Specialties/Favorites:

  • Bento Box B (on kid's menu)
  • Kake Udon
  • Candied Shrimp
Setting: Small and cozy dining room. Elegantly decorated!
Service: Extremely friendly!

Good things: Big selection of food. Nice servers. Very well priced.
Bad things: Small. Can get cold, so BRING A SWEATER!

*This is the most authentic Japanese/Chinese restaurant my family has found so far in the DC area. It is also the least expensive! There are spanish speaking waiters as well.
